Bodies, Trauma, Ecologies
Bodies Trauma Ecologies
Part of an ongoing project since 2020, this Moving Kinship® Hub began as discussion between current collaborators: Beatrice Allegranti (choreographer, filmmaker, trauma-informed psychotherapist, feminist scholar), Foluke Taylor (*therapist, writer, teacher and parent living in the histories and fluid geographies of Black diaspora), Stella Duffy OBE (writer, LGBTQ+activist, theatre maker, psychotherapist), Emily Bohobo N’Dombaxe Dola (youth climate activist, Storytelling Director at Youth4Nature). The ongoing project presents film, choreographic work, writing and a series of public talks across 2023. Updates posted her and on news page.
The BODIES TRAUMA ECOLOGIES conversation is an introduction to current developments of transdisciplinary and intersectional feminisms situated at the intersections of choreography, trauma-focused psychotherapy and climate activism. This conversational exchange explores the extent to which the more-than-human is integral to everyday life, and how to bring moving bodies (and the intersectional politics therein) in line with anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic and anti-transphobic movements and climate justice. The discussion highlighted the transformational potential of the moving body and choreography as transversal practice leading into a wider (relationally contingent) ecologies.
The short film Emergenza is the first bespoke artistic response from this Moving Kinship hub and features the voices of Foluke Taylor, Stella Duffy and Emily Bohobo N’Dombaxe Dola with dance artists Rudzani Moleya and Luke Birch. Watch the trailer here.
