FEMINIST EXPERIENTIAL CLINICAL SUPERVISION GROUP

A new monthly experiential supervision group that supports body-based, dance movement psychotherapy and verbal therapy practitioners to move, speak and write with clinical material from an intersectional feminist framework.

This feminist experiential supervision group also runs monthly online for international practitioners.

24th February 2024: ONE DAY WORKSHOP

Moving with Intersectionality

This introductory workshop draws from Beatrice Allegranti’s practice and forthcoming book.

What does it mean to move with intersectionality?

The workshop introduces the concept of intersectional body politics: recognising how race, genders, sexualities, class, disabilities are interconnected and embodied. Participants will be guided towards understanding how white body supremacy is insidiously embodied and embedded, and introduced to ways of practicing accountability, decentering whiteness, and decolonising everyday relating through experiential movement.

  • Come ready to move, write and discuss within a feminist trauma-responsive experiential framework
  • Open to dance and somatic practitioners
  • A reading list of key intersectional feminist texts will be provided at the end of the workshop

23rd March 2024: ONE DAY WORKSHOP

Moving with the Trouble of Trauma

This introductory workshop draws from Beatrice Allegranti’s practice and forthcoming book.

What does it mean to move with the Trouble of Trauma?

The workshop introduces how traumatic experiences move within and through generations and impact our embodied relating in unexpected and in habitual ways. We don’t always recognise what generates a bodily response such as muscular stiffening, holding breath or angry outburst. By examining the somatic insults of trauma, we can begin to recognise how its impact forms in our bodies, and how this impacts our relating. Participants will be invited to engage with and feel some of their own embedded somatic responses. Come ready to move, write and discuss within a feminist trauma-responsive experiential framework
