The Ridge
25 min solo performance
The Ridge is a solo choreographed by Deborah Hay – one of the iconic founders of the 1960s Judson Church Theatre in New York. In September 2004, Beatrice Allegranti worked with Deborah Hay and 20 international dancers to learn the solo. Over a period of six months daily practice, Allegranti adapted Hay’s choreography into her own embodied response. The Ridge takes the audience on a complex and rich journey of moving, spoken and sonic bursts, tumbles, explosions and meditations.
