Moving with the Material offers an inclusive and transdisciplinary way of engaging with embodied practice.

As facilitator, Beatrice Allegranti practices in trauma-responsive ways so that participants can move with the material that shows up in the present moment. Rooted in the Moving Kinship© feminist score, the group sessions encourage a sensitivity towards our human and more-than-human entanglements, how these entanglements shape us, and how we can influence in equitable ways.

Monthly sessions feature experiential movement, individual and group improvisation, somatic body work for nervous system regulation, and exploration of ethical ways to ‘with-ness’: be present, listen and respond with movement and words.

Whether you’re a professional dance artist, involved in arts and health, or an arts therapist, this monthly group offers an opportunity to expand your practice. The regularity of monthly sessions aim to support participants in nurturing a deeper relationship with the body, movement and dance and how this exists within the broader socio-political and environmental context. Come ready to move, play, discuss, write and receive feedback.
