Micro-acts of Activism
Micro-acts of Activism 2021/22
Beatrice Allegranti has been working with a team of dance and spoken word artists, and a musician to create and curate micro-acts of activism – the digital version of the Moving Kinship® hubs as a rapid artistic response during the Covid 19 pandemic.
Inspired by Soyini Madison’s story of local activists in South Saharan Africa who employ modes of performance as tactics of resistance and intervention in their day-to-day struggles for human rights, this work is is born out of the pandemic and the short film below offers a glimpse into the short bespoke performances and original music created for and with diverse audiences. During lockdown we reached people online in their living rooms.
This first video below was for a person living with rare young onset dementia.
